University Events Program Assistant II (UCP 4) Search #2011095 The Office of University Events is seeking a motivated, team oriented individual to join the staff of this high-profile event planning office. The Office of University Events, which manages between 80 and 100 events annually, is a division of University Communications. It is responsible for the management and execution of high-quality events including groundbreakings and building dedications, major university celebrations, honors and awards ceremonies, as well as private events hosted by the President and senior administrators and events which support fundraising initiatives.Position available Mon, 11/01/2010
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Director of University Events, this individual will provide program assistance in the execution of events. Activities include the coordination of all event logistics such as: fiscal management, concept development, printing and collateral materials, catering, audio visual, staffing needs, transportation, décor, and on-site management.Qualifications Required
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, plus three to five years related experience; demonstrated ability to work independently and regularly exercise sound judgment regarding program matters; ability to perform in a team environment, effectively multi-task and prioritize workload; demonstrated computer experience; excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills; and a willingness to work nights and weekends when necessary. Preferred qualifications: strong organizational skills, experience with Microsoft Access, and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds and participate in the set-up and breakdown of events.
